Outplacement

Outplacement prevents people and organisations from being stuck in an unsatisfying situation. Outplacement offers you or your employee(s) future perspectives in the following situations:
- Redundancy through reorganization or merger
- When the personal capacity and the demands of the position are no longer in sync
- When stuck in an impossible working situation
- When you indicate that you are no longer challenged in your present position
Outplacement is an effective aid for well-run HR-management.
The ultimate goal of the process is that the person involved finds a new job.
Houthoff offers the personal phase before the work phase.
In the personal phase, the following matters are discussed:
- Give attention to accepting the loss of the function
- Reflect on the new situation and taking distance
- Self analysis; strong and weak points.
- ‘Who am I, what do I want and what can I do’
- Strengthening personal qualities and skills
- How do I make a responsible choice for the rest of my career
- Drawing up a profile and
- Possibly a (psychological) test
Next is the work phase: Self marketing; how do I sell myself, or how do I make sure I am noticed? Strategies to find or create the ‘ideal’ position. Drawing up an application plan:
- Analysis of job vacancies
- Drawing up a letter of application and résumé
- Networking
- Coaching when applying for a job, psychological tests and assessment centres.
Working method
We start with an informal talk, at which a coach of our agency will also be present, seeing as we set great story by having a 'click' between the outplacement candidate and the coach. A relationship based on trust is after all a condition for fruitful collaboration.
During the entire outplacement process, the coach will mostly have a stimulating, advisory and critical function and will also be an objective sounding board. We set great store by a healthy balance between a businesslike approach in which we make demands of the candidate and an open working atmosphere. The progress, with the knowledge of the candidate, is reported in general terms to the client. It is also possible to do an assessment prior to the outplacement process.
The concluding phase consists of advice with decisions surrounding the acceptance of a new position. Evaluation meetings will take place during the probation period at the new organisation. These are aimed at a thorough embedding in the new situation. Houthoff has training locations at its disposal throughout the Netherlands and Belgium for the outplacement programs. In addition, our agency has ample experience in the area of outplacement both in the commercial and non-profit sector, both nationally and internationally. Besides individual outplacement, we also offer group outplacement, for instance for supporting administrative personnel and middle management. We also offer personal and individual attention in these cases.
