You can compare people to musical notes. Once they are tuned to one another, they form a beautiful orchestra.

Objective

The aim of the team building training is always defined by you, the client. Houthoff does not offer standard solutions, as the customized approach is our core competence. Together we will define your question and the desired objective. When we know exactly what you want, we will present you with a proposal.

For example, we can work on the following subjects:

  • Defining the strengths and weaknesses of the team
  • How we can treat each other respectfully
  • Strengthening the cohesion of the group (mutual trust, support, safety, acting as a team)
  • How we can further an atmosphere of open and effective communication
  • How a team can deal with change and uncertainty
  • How to deal with conflicts
  • The merging of departments and divisions
  • How I can create new enthusiasm in my team
  • How to transform a diversity of soloist actions into co-ordinated teamwork
  • How to work according to plan
  • Bringing out the shared vision and mission
  • Implementing a new structure or procedure

In order to give you an impression what a team building training may look like, we have worked out the following in more detail:

Strengthening the effectiveness of the team by improving the mutual communication and co-operation.

The programme evolves around the following skills and questions

  • Getting to know each other; in order to function optimally in a new team it is crucial that the participants know what to expect of each other.
  • Communicating
    • Learn to listen respectfully and actively
    • Insight in the meaning of verbal and non-verbal communication
    • Interpretation: learning to check instead of interpreting straight away
    • Learning to give and to receive feed-back
    • Dealing with conflicts and adverse opinions
  • Co-operation
    • Group(s) learn to operate less individually, more in co-ordination.
    • Newcomers and experienced team members learn how to benefit from each other
    • How to achieve meaningful communication and consultation
    • Working according to plan
    • Working together respectfully
    • Actions are shared and discussed with the entire team
    • The group shares a common objective

Work form

The actual training shows the following characteristics:

  • Active participation, in the discussions as well as the exercises
  • The practicing of skills comes first, though backed up by a theoretical framework
  • Variation in work form
  • Translation of the acquired skills into everyday practice
  • Possibility of a follow-up meeting for evaluation and coaching
  • For us teamwork means: bringing complementary and mutually reinforcing talents together to arrive at the best possible synergy. Therefore the challenge lies in the question: Which factors make up the success of my team

Duration

This team building workshop lasts from one day up to three days.

When and where

Date and locations are planned together with you as our client. It is possible to schedule the team building sessions (partly) in weekends. If requested, we will gladly advise you on this.
